Dance is a base discipline and fundamental to your overall training as a dancer. It allows you to work on your technique, lines, flexibility, posture and overall body awareness.
Fly High fitness offers a wide range of junior classes including, Dance, Fitness, Cross-fit, Gymnastics and a large variety or martial arts.
We provide a wide range of classes from Ballet, Tap, Musical theatre, and contemporary. We offer them all to different ages and abilities, from beginner through too advanced.
We recommend the youngest starting age of 4yrs old for our Baby Ballet Class. This is a great time for your child to be learning basic movement and coordinations skills as well as making friends and learning the basic skills of a dancer.
Dance is an excellent form of fitness. Not only is it a great cardio workout but it also is highly effective for toning, mobility and strengthening the body. You can burn between 200-400 calories for just half and hour of dance.
Tap Dance is a style of dance in which a dancer wearing shoes fitted with heel and toe taps to create audible beats by rhythmically striking the floor or any other hard surface.
Tap originally started in the United States and was a cross between Traditional African and Irish Dance. Over the years it has developed into a dazzling spectacle making its way into some of the most iconic dance and musical films of all time.
Mastering a singular style of dance to a professional standard takes years of discipline, passion and determination. A dancer would be training 3-4hours a day 5-6 times a week perfecting and improving their skill, strength and mobility.
Absolutely, All dance styles can tell a story or an emotion. This is Portrayed through music, movement and “acting through song” a skill all dancers have to learn “to feel their music” and portray the story or emotion they want the audience to feel.
I work very closely with my student and their progression as a dancer as they develop new skills and reach new goals. An elite dancer needs to be extremely committed, passionate and maintain a high level of technique in multiple styles of dance.
I always suggest coming along for a trial class. This is the best way for your child to understand how the class will run and what they can expect from each lesson.
For a first lesson I suggest coming 10 mins early so that they can settle in with the surroundings and studio space, it also gives me a chance to introduce myself and allow your child to feel relaxed before entering a potentially overwhelming experience. Man sure they have something comfortable to wear that they can easily move in and sometime is it helps to bring a friend.
Our Baby Ballet class focuses on creative movement and basic body control that encourages the use of imagination for young children. Your child will be introduced to the beginning of dance in a fun and recreational way to explore movement through music. We use a range of colorful props and fun music to help develop their first steps which will be carried forward into formal ballet classes in the future.

Our classical ballet classes provide an in-depth study to the style and movement of ballet. Your child will develop technique and discipline as well as music and performance skills. As your dancer progresses through the grades, they will learn correct posture, body placement, memorization and technical strength. Focus is also given to musical awareness, artistic development, stamina, creativity and performance. A strong ballet foundation prepares your child for a successful transition into other dance genres.
Pointe classes are advanced Ballet classes for those dancers who have achieved the necessary classical technique and strength through their classical classes. Pointe concentrates on the transference of ballet steps from demi-pointe to full pointe. **Admittance into Pointe Work is at the discretion of the instructor.
Contemporary dance is a very popular style of dance that allow your child to learn new and innovative combinations and choreography. Utilizing a wide range of music styles, contemporary dance gives your child a chance to explore their own style and tell a story through their movement. Often combining elements of dance styles like Jazz, Ballet, Modern and even Hip Hop, Contemporary dance also incorporates creative and improvisational movement.

Utilizing a wide range of music styles, contemporary dance gives students a chance to explore their own style and tell a story through their movement. Pointe classes are advanced Ballet classes for those dancers who have achieved the necessary classical technique and strength through their classical classes. Flexibility is achievable for everyone and is one of the most crucial elements for all dancers. Our conditioning class is designed to help extension of muscles, improve range of motion, and reduce tension across the body. This class will help your children learn how to stretch and improve challenging positions (such as the splits) correctly without risking injury.
Dance Acro combines dance techniques with precision acrobatic elements. Classes include flexibility, balancing and conditioning exercises mixed with gymnastic elements, to create strong and versatile dancers. Our program is based on safe and effective progressions of flexibility, strength, balancing, limbering and tumbling.

Tap dancing is a rhythmic style of dance that builds coordination and musicality. It is a very exciting class that builds a lot of technique in a fun and challenging way through sound and rhythm.
Our Tap classes provide an in-depth study to the style, movement and rhythmic development of Tap. Your child will develop an advanced level of rhythm and technique as well as music and performance skills. As your child progresses through the grades, they will learn correct sounds, body placement, rhythmical sequences and technical structure.
Musical theatre is the combination of dancing, singing and acting. Students will not only develop these skills individually but also be taught how to combine and perform all three skills together. This class focuses on musicality, group and solo singing, expression, teamwork and confidence.
In addition to our musical theatre classes, we have introduced a new class focusing on the dance element of musical theatre. This class will teach students a wide variety of dance styles that can fall under the “musical theatre umbrella” and students will experience the different genres and history of dance as we focus on routines from some of the greatest musicals of all time.
Private classes are for students wishing to gain that extra one on one training in singing. Our singing lessons consist of vocal technique introduced through proper vocal warm-ups, breathing techniques, learning how to make a strong sound and working on musicality and performance.
